Trade-off - Veetie - Open
veetie wrote in thebigtradeoff
What I Can Make: I'm new to creating (hoping to improve by doing trades) but I can do Sims, SC4 terrains, simple retextures (paintings, walls and floors, for example), texture replacements (if anyone wants werefoxes in their game for whatever reason - done!), 4-, 8- and 12-PT sets if anyone's interested, and I did once make an invisible recolour for the dartboard.
My General Style: My hood is a small tribal village of hunters and gatherers (temperate climate, very remote and isolated) so I prefer stuff that fits that theme in my own game, but I'm willing to create for pretty much any style.
Amount of Participants I Want: Up to three.
What I'd Like to Receive: Clothes for all ages, both genders and preferably all seasons (hoping for something that uses leather and/or homespun cloth type textures, but doesn't look too "medieval peasant"); more longish hairstyles for male Sims and facial hair (preferably Pookleted with grey elders); deco objects that fit my theme; recolours/remeshes for everyday objects that also work with my hood's style (particularly recreational/hobby stuff, but not electronics - although I could also really use appropriate kitchen appliances); lots (mostly in need of community lots, but small huts on residential or even apartment lots would be appreciated too - building and landscaping are not my forte).

I can trade with you

What I can make: I can make you some lots. Is your style similar to this simmer: http://thenuidyahub.blogspot.com/?m=0 ? What kind of community lots are you looking for?
My general style: maxis match, my blog http://applevalleyblogs.blogspot.com/?m=0
What I would like to receive: a sc4 terrain of four interconnected islands with one island including the layouts from MTS Ambers Journey "Ellis Island", one island with the layout of Ambers Journey "Golden Bay Island" http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=218435 and an island as clicknpycho The Island http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=229835 Basically I'm looking for my current hood terrain spilt into the four sections indicated from this post http://applevalleyblogs.blogspot.com/2009/11/combined-terrain-part-1-building.html?m=1 but with each section a bit bigger and with a few more roads, yet indicative of each section's style.

That's just my style... because I'm that Simmer! Great to see you here, Starr!

Trade accepted, I'll get started on that terrain once I'm done typing. As for lots, I'm looking for things that would make my hood feel more like a community than a bunch of separate lots... my Nuidya don't have shops or anything like that, but they need places to celebrate important events, hold council meetings and other gatherings, and just plain goof around and have fun. I'd also like to have a small school-type lot where the elders can pass on skills and oral history to younger Sims (and give the younger Sims' parents a break!). So a couple of things like that would be great.

I made five tribal lots for your hood. They are a bit more than the "roofs on sticks" currently, but they are not modern brick and motar. I used the same flooring and walls to make things more cohesive and seamless in your hood. There is minimal CC, I think there are 3 custom items (one is a rug fix, a wooden swing that was downloaded from EA and a buyable career reward).

A 2x3 lot with a place for new sims and visitors. I left this a community lot so that you can zone it as a hotel or an apartment, whichever fits best.

A modern amenities (like the community lot phones) are hidden from view so that it doesn't interfere with photos :)

Starr, thank you! I look forward to using these in my game.

Here's my gift to you:

This SC4 terrain - I recommend using a camera mod. Four small islands on one map take up a surprising amount of space.
It took a few days to get the right layout and make the bridges behave, but I hope I've got it right for you.

As a bonus, I've included my Sims' wedding present to S'Ahmisa & Rashid of Apple Valley.
A Min Ra cat, revered by my Sims - so they don't send these kitties to SimNation for just anyone. It's a sign of great respect.

Since this is my first time sharing my creations, I hope you like them.

Awesome, thank you. I need to research how to add the cat to my game, I've never downloaded an animal before. The terrain looks amazing and since Rashid and S'Ahmisa are used to kitties growing up, they will love the Min Ra :)

What I can make: Sims, paintings, lots of all kinds. So maybe a lot of some sort? Maybe apartment or some residential lots? (You'd have to tell me how your families tend to group together, I'm studying anthropology in school and have some ideas based on real life tribes... but not sure if it'd fit into your theme)

My general style: 1920's themed, semi-realistic (I do use maxis match for clothing/items)

What I would like to receive: Either some wallpaper or maybe some replacement clothing for my sims? Or you could make me a terrain that would be good for a city? (roads go all over but have enough space for community lots, maybe with it having some beach area?) I honestly don't care, I like being surprised :)

I'd like to trade, what sort of ideas do you have?

I was thinking of making a 'house' that is really a couple of houses due to the family living together in the same area (the daughters or sons move in with their spouse's family, but everyone has their own place, if that makes any sense?) I was also thinking of making a couple huts as apartments so you could have the feeling of your sims living together without having to control them all at the same time.

Sounds like we're thinking along the same lines, it does make sense and is something my Sims already do. :) I look forward to seeing what you do and I'll start working on my gift for you later today.

Do you have seasons? I'm thinking if adding a garden to the lot for everyone (since the tribe I'm basing this off of almost always has a garden in and around their houses) but wanted to make sure you could use it.

I have all expansion and stuff packs, so I could use the gardens. I haven't had a lot of experience with them before, but it's something I'd like to try out - I'd probably have to start a second hood for it though, since my Nuidya tribe prefer to hunt and forage, or as close to it as the game will let them, rather than growing food. Either way, sounds good to me. :)

I'm really, really sorry but something big has come up in real life and I don't know when I'll be able to have free time to work on anything.

It's OK, I understand. These things happen, you don't need to work on anything for me if something else has come up. :)

Hi I'd love to trade if you're interested

What I can make: Object conversions from TSM, TS3 or castaway, basic object recolours and mesh editing, default replacements for accessories (like wands, pens, spatulas, etc.), as long as I don't have to build them from scratch because I'm restricted to copy-pasting in milkshape and photoshop both. :)

My general style: Maxis match, victorian/country.

What I would like to receive: I'd love a small, tight downtown terrain, sort of like the university hoods, or maybe some exterior walls? I love wood siding with trim in different colours. If you've seen Haven on TV or google Lunenburg houses, those are the sort of walls I mean.

I'd like to trade, I can do the things you asked for - maybe for a couple of TS3/TSM conversions? I don't have TSM, but I've seen a lot of things already converted from it that I liked... I do have TS3 and (I think) all EPs so I might have a look through the objects for ones I'd like in TS2, if you wouldn't mind converting a couple. :)

Here you go!

I decided on the waning moon set after all. The Hewnsman set is so huge and I'd like to convert it all, so I added it to my to-do list after my current projects instead. Since I saw that you had some witches I converted the orrery from the mage's tower in TSM and some beans and spices you can use as reagents or groceries, and the wall thingy from the drifter set. (The end table is by amovitamsim)

The bookcase requires AL and the orrery is cloned off a NL rug.

Hope you like them!

Thanks! I love them... I'll have your gift ready to upload later today.

I made you a couple of terrains. I hope they're OK for you!

These are just what I was looking for! No beach front property to distract me and plenty of room for small lots as well as big ones. I'm getting giddy just looking at that TT formation on the top map. Thank you so much, my BACC is set up for the foreseeable future. :)
